Mission
The Fort Concho Museum seeks to preserve extant fort period structures, site features, and archeological information; maintain and develop the museum/ interpretive center illustrating fort period history, its presence and its effects; and serve a functional and educational purpose benefiting the San Angelo community, the state of Texas and the nation at large.
In October 1980, the Fort Concho Museum Board adopted this statement of purpose to serve as a reference for all fort functions including programs, activities and building uses. The Fort Concho Museum Board has reviewed this statement of purpose as it applies to priorities in programs, building restorations, and operations several times in recent years.
