The Junior Recruit activity book is an educational program designed to teach children ages 5 through 12 about Fort Concho and its related history. The Junior Recruit booklet contains activities that encourage participants to explore the fort, complete games, and answer questions about the site. After completing the required number of activities, participants become Fort Concho Junior Recruits and are awarded an official Junior Recruit sticker.
The goal of the Junior Recruit Program is to facilitate learning opportunities for children so they have a better understanding of the significance of Fort Concho as a 19th century military fort and its role in American History. Upon leaving the historic site, it is our hope that these young historians can further relate their experiences and acquired knowledge to friends and family.
The Junior Recruit Activity Book is available with a child’s guided or self-guide admission ticket.
