San Angelo Gives
Barracks and Mess Halls 3 and 4 are coming back! And we need your help!
Lost for more than 100 years, the historic Barracks and Mess Halls 3 and 4 rise again thanks to two generous anonymous donations and a grant from the San Angelo Health Foundation, all totaling $ 4.2 million!
These additions to our site, accurate in every exterior detail to their 1870s original appearance, will house a special library collection on permanent loan to us and, our own library/archives holdings of books, files, photos, microfilm, and many other resources now houses in Officers’ Quarters 7 and other locations. And we plan to save/organize and relocate the Archives of the San Angelo Standard-Times!
We seek funds for furnishings and equipment to help us make this new library/research center a first-class facility, open and accessible to all, who share our passion for preserving and sharing our community’s history.
Our San Angelo Gives Goal is $15,000. We have already raised funds from other sources, including a recent San Angelo Gives Campaign, for new, space-saving rolling shelves, and additional funds from this year’s campaign will help us finish the job!
Make sure you save ———> San Angelo Gives in your favorites and be ready on May 2nd!
