19th Century Penmanship
Have you ever looked at your own handwriting and considered the history behind American penmanship? Or have you heard some people brag about their ability to write in Spencerian cursive and felt unsure where to start? Fort Concho’s education department will be hosting a 19th-century penmanship and practice session, open to the public, on Tuesday, August 13, at 7 PM in Officer Quarters 8.
We invite you to join us. It is FREE & OPEN TO ALL!
We will discuss how handwriting has changed over time and even try our hand at replicating Benjamin Grierson’s font. (Col. Grierson had questionable handwriting, and this is a joke. Hopefully, we will write more like Aunt Helen.)
Don’t have FOMO about this joke! Join in the joke and join us in August.
