Texas Archeology Society Ceramics Class
Mar 28 @ 8:00 am – Mar 29 @ 5:00 pm

In partnership with the Fort Concho National Historic Landmark and the Concho Valley Archeological Society, the Texas Archeological Society will be hosting a Ceramics Academy March 28-29. The hands-on class event will provide a comprehensive background and understanding of prehistoric and historic ceramics from different archeological sites.

In this workshop participants will learn how pottery is made and used, how pottery reflects cultural traditions, and how archeologists use the ceramic data to understand the lifeways of people in the past. Participants will learn and practice the skills needed to recover important data from ceramic sherds, and be exposed to the application of ceramic data toward answering ceramic-based research questions.
