Buffalo Soldier Heritage Day

Buffalo Soldier Heritage Day is a day to honor and celebrate the legacy of Buffalo Soldiers who served in the U.S. Army after the Civil War.
This year’s event will take place on Sunday, February 25th from 2:00 pm to 4:00 pm at the Buffalo Soldier Memorial Site opposite Fort Concho and Officers’ Quarters 1 and the Barracks 1 Visitor Center.

The celebration is free and open to everyone. There will be a program on the Buffalo Soldiers, book signings by author, Jim Matthews, and light refreshments.
Visitors can also explore the wonderful new Buffalo Soldier exhibit at Barracks 1. This is a great opportunity to learn about the history and achievements of the Buffalo Soldiers and to pay tribute to their contributions to our country.

For any further information, give us a call at 325-657-4444 or email us at sutler@fortconcho.com. Don’t miss this chance to celebrate and honor the Buffalo Soldiers and their heritage!
